So what are trainers?
Trainers are college aged students, committed to PRIDE Youth Programs’ message, and the development and enhancement of PRIDE teams.

What do trainers do?
Traveling throughout the United States and to other countries, trainers are walking encyclopedias of PRIDE! They facilitate training from 10-200 people, in small rural areas and the middle of large cities. From drug education to performance, communication to action planning, and team building to leadership, these young adults do it all! In their communities trainers volunteer through civic involvement, maintain academic excellence, are involved in clubs and organizations, and often stay involved with the PRIDE team that got them started. Talk about role models!

Who are the trainers?
This year we are excited to have 11 new trainers join us. Kara Beck is a sophomore at North Park University in Illinois. A fresh graduate of the Chesapeake PRIDE Team is Joshua Beeler. Thomas Engels is also a 2005 graduate, and joins us as he attends Western Michigan University. Virginia Unlimited member Lito Garcia joins us as an alumnus of Chesapeake PRIDE. PRIDE of Newaygo County alumnus Larry Wyn is another new addition to the team. From Crawfordsville PRIDE, Sarah Green joins us as a 2005 graduate. Now at school as a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh is Courtney Nickens. From a great team in St. Tammany, Louisiana or shall I say “Troupe” Becky Rodrigue and Timothy “Kramer” Schmidt will be joining us. Kate Standefer from Crawfordsville PRIDE and Stephanie St. George from Tawas PRIDE, round out the group. Alipio Teixeira Filho of PRIDE Brasil will be joining us as an International Training Team Consultant.

Returning to the team for their second year are Kaytee Alderton (PRIDE of Newaygo County), Haley Burrow (Magnolia PRIDE), Maggie Fernelius (Tawas PRIDE), and Joey Scarillo (PRIDE of Bethel Park). As third year members we have Eric Bean (PRIDE Y2Y Bermuda), Laura Phillips (Ottawa Jedi PRIDE) and Chip Smith (Collierville PRIDE). Devon McDonel (Collierville PRIDE) and Nick Trahan (Chesapeake PRIDE) join us for their 4th and 5th years on the team respectively.
